A Benalla Community Energy Hub will be launched on March 31 as part of a roadshow that is rolling out across the region.
It will offer residents a chance to find out more, sign up as a customer and join the movement.
Indigo Power will be inviting customers to join the hub as electricity retail customers.

Once a hub has more than 100 customers, its members will be able to view the amount of renewable energy shared within the hub.
Renewable Energy Benalla convenor John Lloyd said they were co-hosting the event because they were excited to hear what the hub would make possible for Benalla.
“Renewable Energy Benalla and Indigo Power both share an ambition to transition our region to renewable energy,” Mr Lloyd said.
“We’re both members of the North East Community Energy Network, a network that collaborates on regional renewable energy projects, and we’re excited to hear about this next step.”

Based in Beechworth, Indigo Power is a community owned energy company providing a local electricity alternative to customers in north-east Victoria.
Indigo Power managing director Ben McGowan said he was excited to offer the community a chance to get their electricity from a local company already delivering renewable energy outcomes for our region.
“The electricity sector is the single largest driver of climate change and takes $190 million out of our region each year. Together we can change that,” Mr McGowan said.
“We know that when our communities work together we can have a huge impact.
“We set up Indigo Power to support north-east Victorian communities, who are already leading a renewable energy transition.
