This event, exclusive to those aged 90 and up and 85 and up for First Nations peoples and Torres Strait Islanders, was one of the last Seniors Festival events in Shepparton, as the month-long celebration draws to a close.
The Centennial High Tea was held on Tuesday, October 29 at the Woolshed in Kialla, and gave a chance for our oldest residents to connect and enjoy a fun day out.
Entertainment was provided by Frank Powell, and there were plenty of fun and prizes to be had with trivia and raffles throughout the day.
Council’s community director, Louise Mitchell, hailed the event a success.
“The Cenntennial High Tea was a wonderful success, bringing out community together to celebrate Seniors Month and honour our oldest residents,” she said.
“It was heart-warming to see everyone enjoying music, trivia and raffles while embracing the theme of ‘Embracing Wisdom, Embracing Life’.
“Events like these highlight the joy and importance of connection across generations, making our local community stronger and more vibrant.”
News photographer Rechelle Zammit came along to snap up all the fun.
