While not being the big family gathering she might have planned, Edna stood on her doorstep in Arundel St and greeted people as they came past to say hi.
Edna Green was born Edna Joan Hunter on April 19 1930.
A local her whole life, she married Lindsay Green and they raised seven of her eight children on a property in Lurg.

Edna and Lindsay's children are Kevin, Richard, Cheryl, Susan, Dianne, David, Rodney, and Stuart.
They have given her 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, and has been very hands on and involved in all their lives.
In 1963, Lindsay and Edna sold their farm and moved into Benalla.
Edna became involved with various school committees, and was heavily involved in the formation of the Benalla Marching Girls organisation in the 1960s.
She was runner-up for the grandmother of the year awards in 1995, which involved going to Como house and being presented a plaque from Sir Rupert Hamer, and flowers from Lady Hamer.

Her love for gardens and plants has been a major part of her life, she has been a member of the Benalla Garden Club for 53 years and the Hospital Auxillary for six.
Her knowledge of trees and plants is remarkable. Her own garden is proof of this.
Ms Green received cards from State Member for Euroa Steph Ryan, Federal Member for Indi Helen Haines and Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
A family gathering will take place at a later date to celebrate this milestone.
