While galleries and artists have used the internet to share their work for some time, the idea was generally to get people to an exhibition to see the art up close and personal.
Benalla Art Gallery has now adapted that model, to put the whole exhibition online - with a number on view at this link.
On top of this it has launched a "Show us your work" feature on Facebook where the gallery highlight what local artists are up to.

North East Artisans’ Melanie Ball has had the opportunity to take part showing off her colourfully decorated hats.
“I've been decorating hats for a couple of years now,” Melanie said.
“I've had exhibits at NEA for about a year and a half now, and when it was forced to close I came across what Benalla Art Gallery was doing.
“So I decided to submit something as I thought not many people would be doing something similar.”
Melanie started decorating hats about seven years ago when she was living in Melbourne.

“I hated the fact that everyone was wearing black,” she said.
“I don't wear black, so I was decorating jackets at the time when my sister said I should do a few hats. So I did.
“And it just grew from there.”
Melanie has a range of colourfully decorated hats, which you can see on the Benalla Art Gallery Facebook page or via her own page @Appliquez Moi.
