State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said Nicole was among 35 finalists for the awards statewide, which were now in their 66th year.
“Congratulations to Nicole on being named as a finalist in this year’s Victorian Training Awards,” Ms Symes said.
“These awards continue to highlight the strength of Victoria’s vocational education and training.”

Nicole, who was recently named trainee of the year at Box Hill Institute of TAFE, said she was happy to find out she had been named a finalist.
“I had to send in an application and a video of myself,” Nicole said.
“And I got a phone call last week to let me know I'd been announced as a finalist and that I was in the top three for trainee of the year in Victoria.
“It's very exciting.

“I had an interview with them on Tuesday, so I'm just waiting to hear back to find out if I've won.”
The awards recognise and honour the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in the Victorian TAFE and training sector.
Finalists have been named across 13 award categories, which include awards for individuals, employers, industry collaboration and training providers.
Nicole is a finalist in the Victorian Trainee of the Year Award after being awarded Student of the Year by Box Hill Institute.

Nicole is undertaking Certificate IV in Vet Nursing and is working as a trainee with the Rose City Veterinary Hospital in Benalla.
Training, Skills and Higher Education Minister Gayle Tierney said finalists came from across Melbourne, as well as regional locations, such as Bendigo, Benalla, Wodonga, Mildura, Wangaratta and Shepparton.
“The Victorian Training Awards bring together students, teachers, training providers, employers and industry representatives, sharing in a high-quality training system that meets the needs of all Victorians,” Ms Tierney said.
Institutions and businesses up for awards include Box Hill Institute, Bendigo TAFE, Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE, South West TAFE, SuniTAFE and IBM.
Glenrowan community group raises concerns
Due to coronavirus restrictions, this year winners will be announced as part of a new, virtual format.
Some winners will also have the opportunity to represent Victoria at the Australian Training Awards in Melbourne in November.
Winners in each category will receive $5000 in prize money.
