Mr Drum said the internship provided an opportunity for a first-hand look into how Parliament operated at a state and federal level.“We invite all young people who care about the future of our region to apply,” Mr Drum said.

“Experiences such as this are rare and invaluable, particularly for younger people who are looking to become leaders and advocates in their local community.”The internship has been named after former Country Party leader Sir Murray Bourchier.Sir Murray was famed for his role at the Battle of Beersheba, where he led his men of mainly locals at full gallop over three kilometres into Turkish entrenchments and on for a further three kilometres into Beersheba to capture vital wells.
