The aged-care facility was put on high alert on Wednesday, June 2, when a staff member confirmed they had visited the BP in Euroa — a Tier 1 COVID-19 exposure site.
The facility also had a second staff member who was a "secondary close contact" of someone who had also visited an exposure site.
It subsequently went into lockdown awaiting test results.
On Thursday morning, June 3, Royal Freemasons confirmed both staff members had returned negative results — but the increased COVID-measure would stay in place until it received more information from DHHS.
The facility received that information only hours later.
A spokesperson said the home would remain under precautionary restrictions until all residents and staff returned negative test results.
“Royal Freemasons has sufficient personal protective equipment and all other supplies necessary to continue to provide support and services to the residents and staff at Benalla,” the spokesperson said.
“We will continue to monitor staff and residents for signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
“We would like to extend our gratitude for the support and understanding of our residents, their families, our staff and the local community during this precautionary lockdown.”
