Under current restrictions, travel to regional Alpine Resorts is permitted provided visitors have a negative COVID-19 test within the 72 hours prior to arrival.
And plenty in the Rose City are keen to make the trip.
Visitors must provide proof of a negative test results, such as a text message or email from their testing provider. Testing is not required for children under 12 years.

Severe weather can cause conditions to change quickly, and already this season there have been several precautionary closures on Alpine roads.
Motorists should check the VicTraffic website or mobile app for current road closures and black ice warnings before travelling.
Drivers are required to take snow chains and fit them if directed to do so.
A DoT spokesperson suggests practising at home, and carrying gloves, a torch and a garbage bag to make the job easier. A video guide is available at snowsafe.org.au/chain-fitting.

“We recommend drivers check the health of their vehicle before setting off – paying close attention to the tyres, brakes, lights, oil and water. Using the correct type of coolant/anti-freeze will help prevent the radiator from freezing in the extreme cold,” the spokesperson said.
“Drivers of diesel vehicles are advised to fill their tank with alpine diesel, or Winter Mix, which is available at service stations in towns including Omeo, Bright and Myrtleford.
“When driving through towns in regional Victoria, we ask drivers to slow down and obey the speed limit.
