The Rose City’s much-loved carols by candlelight will return this month thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Benalla Lions Club.
Benalla Lion Lester Watt said Santa Claus would be making a special appearance.
“Come along and spend time with family and friends, enjoying the wonderful Christmas atmosphere in the beautiful Benalla Botanical Gardens,” Mr Watt said.
“This event is being run in line with the Victorian Government’s current CovidSafe settings.
“We encourage everyone to register on arrival via QR scanning or manual sign-in at the event, for contact tracing purposes only.
“The carols will be presented by the Benalla Lions Club in partnership with Benalla Rural City Council and through the sponsorship of the Benalla Branch of the Bendigo Bank.
“Despite limited opportunities to practice together because of COVID-19 restrictions, the Rose City Band, Benalla Theatre Company and the Benalla P12 College band are looking forward to being able to perform together for locals and visitors.
“Master of Ceremonies Jamie Boatwood is also looking forward to another entertaining carols evening.”
Carols by candlelight is on Sunday, December 19, from 7pm to 9.30pm.
The Lions club urges you to get there early and bring your picnic basket, chair and/or rug and make sure you join in with the carols — Santa will make a visit about 7.30pm.
