She was born on February 29, 2020, a leap year, and since then has celebrated her birthday on March 1.
But this year is different. This year, she’ll be celebrating on February 29.
The News ran a story about Daisy’s birth at the time — just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
“It wasn’t too bad, to be honest,” Daisy’s mum, Madison Brett, said.
“I got to spend more time with her, and she’s had two new sisters since then.”
Her birthday will be one to remember, with family coming to enjoy the day and activities planned for everyone to enjoy.
“It’s going to be a hot day, so we’ll set up some water play, and there’s the playground,” Ms Brett said.
She said the family was excited, but that Daisy wasn’t sure what all the fuss was about.
“She definitely doesn’t understand,” Ms Brett said.
“Her cousin said, ‘Daisy, you’re going to have your first birthday’ and she looks at them so confused as if to say, ‘No, I’m four’.
“But we’re excited for her.”
