Servicing an area from Benalla all the way up to the north of Albury, Home Paws is a mobile veterinary service that comes to you.
Home Paws is run solely by Dr Jacqui Way, who had plans to implement the mobile vet practice in the region for a long time.
The practice operates Monday to Friday by appointment, whereby Dr Jacqui, who is based on a farm between Wangaratta and Beechworth, will travel to your area when booked.
Dr Jacqui will visit Benalla as needed, but when she does, she will notify clients that she is in the area in order for them to book ahead.
Home Paws offers services that your regular vet might not.
Dr Jacqui said Home Paws aimed to forge a consistency of care, which allowed her to form a familiarity with the pet she was treating.
“I am able to provide personalised care, where patients see the same vet each time,” Dr Jacqui said.
The advantage of Home Paws also lies in its name.
“Some people have a need for an at-home service, whether that be because they’ve got an anxious dog, or have too many pets to go to the vet,” Dr Jacqui said.
The at-home servicing is also helpful for elderly pet owners, or those with a disability, who face challenges leaving the house to take their animal to their local vet.
