The team is holding a Mother’s Day community lunch at the CWA Hall, 117 Bridge St E, Benalla, for just $10 per person on Wednesday, May 8.
Waminda Community House manager Leanne Bullard said they were excited to host their first community Mother’s Day lunch and give people an opportunity to have a tasty meal for a low cost.
“The luncheon is part of the Link Up program funded by the Freemasons Foundation Victoria, which aims to improve the physical and social wellbeing of adults and children living in the Benalla area,” she said.
“We hope to bring the community together to celebrate Mother’s Day by offering an affordable and quality lunch prepared by our talented chef, Dee.
“The lunch is open to everyone, you don’t need to be a mum, so come along and enjoy a restaurant-quality meal at a super affordable price.”
The menu will include an asparagus and goat’s cheese tart, chicken scallopini with seasonal vegetables and a chocolate brownie with fruit compote.
Ms Bullard said the Link Up program was a good opportunity for people in the Benalla community to connect with others throughout the school term.
“It’s a great welcoming program for parents and people in the community who are looking to do something fun with their little ones, or even just enjoy meeting some new people and having a cuppa,” she said.
“We’re open every Wednesday during school terms down at the Benalla CWA Hall. Every week, we have a morning tea at 10am, community art sessions at 11am and a children’s activity corner from 10.30am to 11.30am.”
