Joe has embarked on a career with an Australian-owned company that is a transformational agricultural investor, developer and manager.
A former intern at goFARM, Joe is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Deakin University.
He grew up on a broadacre irrigation and dryland farm and has fond memories of his journey in the agricultural industry, both within Australia and offshore on farms in Canada.
Having progressed from an intern to an asset manager, Joe has experienced the growth of goFARM first-hand and is committed to supporting the organisation in its quest to grow the sector.
“When I was younger, I moved to Melbourne for school,” Joe said.
“I remember in my early years I would finish the semester early and go home to help with the harvest and sowing when needed.
“The demands of agriculture always were important to me.”
The 26 year old also worked on the family farm for almost two years while completing the final subjects of his degree.
He highly recommends young people following their passion to achieve rewarding results.
“The internship has been able to give me time to focus on many parts of agriculture - accounts, analytics, research and all the different goFARM projects across New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria,” Joe said.
“I recommend it to any young person with a passion for agriculture to give them a view of the whole business, and the culture, for anyone who wants to extend themself.”
The internship program provides young people with a platform to build an agri-career of choice.
Joe is currently working on identifying opportunities for transitioning farmland to investment grade agricultural assets.
He also works on the strategic long-term thinking for those assets.
While his position entails a fair bit of travel, Joe said he also spends quite a bit of time in the Melbourne head office.
Dedicated to maintaining Australia’s record agriculture growth, goFARM is investing in the next generation of leaders through their internship program.
