Daniel, who is collaborating with Club Corowa at Friday’s concert, organised 18 barbecue events over the course of the last six weeks, engaging with the Corowa community and further raising awareness about mental health issues.
The upcoming concert promises to be more than just a musical spectacle; it’s a crucial opportunity to promote mental health awareness and support further. Daniel will sell limited edition merchandise, such as t-shirts, stubby holders, wristbands, and keyrings, with all proceeds going to the Black Dog Institute.
Furthermore, Club Corowa has committed to donating a portion of every concert ticket sale to the cause.
Fresh off his success in 2023, where he raised $11,000 for the BDI, Daniel’s motivation for this campaign is deeply personal, stemming from his own mental health experiences.
“Seeing people from our community share their stories with me really drives home the importance of what we're doing,” he reflected.
Daniel noted that the initiative has grown significantly, “in 10 months, it’s crazy to think how far we have come”.
Concertgoers can look forward to a raffle featuring attractive prizes, including a Corowa Whisky & Chocolate package, Easter Hampers with Industrial Café vouchers, and unique pieces from Corowa Bush Furniture.
The event will showcase not only the renowned Birds of Tokyo but also the talents of local bands Empress + Aces, making for an unforgettable evening.
“I want to give a big thanks to Peter and Carly at Club Corowa for putting on this event. Their support has been incredible,” Daniel said.
Birds of Tokyo, a band with over two decades of success, is one of Australia’s leading rock groups. The concert this Friday, March 8, is a standout event, highlighting national and local musical talent in the region.
