Members took a trip to Euroa to join their guiding friends for some alternative outdoor cooking where lots of food made in various ways was consumed.
There was also a big trip to the Sandringham Sailing Centre, leaving on a Benalla Bus Lines bus at 6am to travel down to Port Phillip Bay.
The girls enjoyed some water activities, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and making sandcastles. They had a wonderful experience in perfect weather.
A spokesperson said the club thanked their very patient bus driver for a wonderful day.
“We returned safely, albeit weary after a day on the beach with girls from Wangaratta, Mansfield, Euroa, Kilmore and Lancefield,” the spokesperson said.
“Some of the girls will be off to Jamboree in September 2025, which is at Murwillumbah, NSW.
“Girls from around the world will all join together for a wonderful camping experience.
“So, together with their parents, they’ve been working to raise some funds to help them along the way.
“They have had a raffle which was only made possible by our generous community who supported them with so many prizes.
“It was amazing. Thank you to all the community that donated prizes for this to happen. It was very successful.
“And only this weekend the guides had a photo day with lots of families arriving at the guide hall to have their photos taken with Santa.
“It was a hive of activity. The camera club members donated their time.
“Thank you to Noel from the camera club for your patience, lots of families left the hall with smiles on their faces.
From Friday, December 6 to Sunday, December 8 the guides headed off to camp for their final activity of the year.
“It has been a year filled with so many activities both on Wednesday evenings and weekends,” the spokesperson said.
“But we will be looking forward to returning in the new year with lots more to do.
“We live in a wonderful community, be they volunteer groups or businesses.
”It’s fabulous to see so many people in our community supporting our young people.
“Benalla Girl Guides are very thankful for all the support. Merry Christmas everyone.”
