On Tuesday, November 12, about 60 people attended Benalla Health’s annual community memorial gathering.
A Benalla Health spokesperson said this is the second year it has hosted a moving non-denominational memorial event for staff and community members.
“Our shady garden and Mary Treacy Fountain created a calm space for reflection, healing and support,” the spokesperson said.
“The event was simple yet moving. It allowed people to connect with others, to remember, and to give thanks for the lives of those loved ones who had died.
“We would like to thank local Elder, Aunty Cheryl Cooper, Guest Speaker, Former Councillor Gail O’Brien, the U3A Choir led by Keirin, our CEO, Jackie Kelly, and Benalla Health’s Hospital Auxiliary, Volunteers, and staff who made the afternoon memorable.
“We plan to slowly grow the event and for it to be an annual fixture in Benalla Health’s calendar.”
