Practice manager Janine Rofe said while some of those would be the second shot, it was an impressive figure for a Rural City with a population of just over 14,000.
“We are booking in people aged between 40 and 60 for the Pfizer vaccine, and over 60s can book an AstraZeneca vaccine,” Ms Rofe said.
“Under 40s who have a specific medal condition or an occupation that requires them to be vaccinated can also book.

“We are doing two clinics per week, on a Thursday evening and Saturday during the day.”
Ms Rofe said the uptake of vaccines in Benalla had been good and she was pleased to see how many people were attending.
“We've given 4743 vaccinations and we will hit 5000 on Saturday,” she said.
“And people booking a vaccine will always be able to be seen within a week.

“If we fill up we will put an extra clinic on, so for example we have an extra AstraZeneca clinic this Friday.”
Ms Rofe said you could book your vaccine by either phoning the clinic on 5762 1022 or online via churchstreetsurgery.com.au
The AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines require two jabs and Ms Rofe said you could book both when making the initial appointment.
Pfizer vaccines need to be three to four weeks apart, whilst AstraZeneca vaccinations need to be 12 weeks apart.
