After weathering the COVID-19 storm and navigating one of the most difficult years on record, owners Anne and Lawrence Stolz have recently received two industry awards.
Stolz is officially the Homemakers Furniture and Bedding store of the year, and the IMG Comfort Top Studio Store, for 2020.
“IMG is a brand we specialise in,” Lawrence said.

“We did the highest turnover in country Victoria in 2020 for them.
“The Homemakers award is not just based on sales, and includes more criteria around things like customer service.”
Anne said they were attending a meeting with other stores that stock Homemaker products, when the award winner was suddenly announced.
“We had just sat down to dinner and they announced it. We were just so surprised and elated,” Anne said.

“You just feel so proud that you've actually done it — and it's a national award, not just Victoria.
“You are so proud because you've done it for Benalla. This town is not a large retail sector, so to win this for Benalla, it was great.”
Lawrence said the award was also recognition for their staff.
“It's a real compliment and is a result of all their hard work,” he said.

“It was a real team effort.”
Homemakers Furniture and Bedding marketing director Courtney Mills congratulated Anne, Lawrence and their team for picking up the award.
“Homemakers Furniture and Bedding congratulates Stolz Furnishers on being awarded our 2020 store of the year,” Ms Mills said.
“In a year that was like no other we applaud Stolz on their hard work, commitment and excellence (in) furniture retail and support of their local community.”
