While he has experienced all those things, at times, the COVID-19 pandemic has made life a little less predictable.
Much of his time has been spent in online tutorials and he has witnessed first hand his university implementing tech solutions to keep students engaged.
And while it was not how he envisioned, he said he was loving uni life and recommended others from the Rose City apply.
“To be honest, some of it has been tough,” Zach said.
“I attend Swinburne and it has adapted really well.
“They brought in different technologies and things have gotten easier as time has gone on.
“We’ve been in this situation for four semesters now.
“They know what they’re doing and are making it really easy for students to be successful in their study.”
Zach said he felt lucky to have been able to have attended a traditional open day when he was making the decision where to study.
“But I had the opportunity to have a go on Swintopia, Swinburne’s online open day, and thought it was pretty cool,” he said.
“You get to explore the campus, and future students can arrange one-on-one sessions with a student ambassador or a current academic.
“It worked really well and if anyone back in Benalla is thinking about applying for uni I’d say go for it.
“Maybe some people have been holding off because of the lockdowns.
“But it is still an amazing experience, and hopefully things will be back to normal soon.”
