Happy birthday: MOVE curator Jade Burley says the museum’s expanded exhibition is celebrating its first birthday and all are invited to browse through its fine displays.

It is 12 months since the Museum of Vehicle Evolution, or MOVE, opened its doors after its major expansion and in that time about 25,000 people have marvelled at the beautiful creations within.

The museum has also hosted 50 events, including 1000 people for the Biggest Ever Blokes’ Lunch in August.
Museum curator Jade Burley said the number of visitors through the doors was impressive given the disruption to people’s lives in recent times, and to celebrate the anniversary and the region’s resilience, all were invited to a party on Sunday, November 20.
“We know it's been a really busy, interrupted, traumatic year for some people, floods and disease, you name it, so anyone who's been meaning to get to the museum, but hasn't yet, we thought we'd provide the perfect excuse to come out and check it out,” Mr Burley said.
Apart from the huge range of regular attractions, including vintage televisions, bicycles, fashion, motorcycles, cars and trucks, there will also be a large display of agricultural machinery, new cars and trucks, fishing and ski boats, modern construction machinery, a food court, bar, jumping castle, and half-priced entry, at $10 for adults or $30 for a family.
“So half price, but twice twice the museum for the day,” Mr Burley said.
“It was 10 years in February since the original museum opened, but it's 12 months of MOVE, of the Museum of Vehicle Evolution, so the new museum, which includes the Loel Thomson costume collection and the Kenworth dealer pavilion and the revamped museum overall.”

“It changes day to day. It changes with my mood, but there's probably three things here currently that always bring a smile to the face,” he said.
