In celebration of Cultural Diversity Week, Shepparton Library will host an author visit and a screening of an award-winning documentary.
On Thursday, March 21, the library will beckon cinema lovers to a special viewing of Australia My Home.
The film, locally produced in Shepparton, focuses on the first arrivals from Albania.
It depicts the stories of three generations of Albanian migrants, their sacrifices and their contribution towards their adopted country.
Furthermore, executive producer Reg Qemal will be at the screening to discuss its creation.
On Friday, March 22, author Ras Ato stops by to present his cookbook, Ras Ato’s Healthy Choice Good Vibration African Cookbook.
The culinary contents feature traditional meals, snacks, desserts, and healthy blended drinks and smoothies from Ghana, West Africa.
Not only will the event feed foodies’ interest, but it will also be a joyous cultural extravaganza with traditional African stories, musical instruments, and games.
From March 18 to 24, Victoria will celebrate Cultural Diversity Week, and a cluster of activities and events will occur throughout the region.
Cultural diversity is an integral part of Greater Shepparton’s identity, and the week serves as a proud reminder that all community members can not only coexist but belong.
Australia My Home will be screened at the Shepparton Library, 41-42 Marungi St, Shepparton, on Thursday, March 21, at 7pm.
Bookings are required as seating is limited.
Ras Ato will visit the Shepparton Library to discuss his cookbook on Friday, March 22, at 2.30pm.
Copies of Ras’ book will be available to purchase at the event for $35, cash only.
