Get ready to rediscover nature to a soundtrack of deep organic house, techno, ambient, and global electronic sounds at Chi Wow Wah Town — a three-day camping event on February 23-25.
CWWT is a fundraiser for multiple sclerosis, with $2 from each ticket sold donated to MS Australia. The event has raised more than $5600 in the past decade.
To maintain the festival’s intimate feel, tickets are limited to only 2500.
Festival director Danielle Erdeli said CWWT had always been rooted in the life force “chi”.
“It’s right there, embedded in the festival name, gesturing towards the event’s focus on fostering love, nourishing and revitalising the spirit, and unlocking one’s potential,” he said.
“Beyond the deep, glowing hub of ecstasy that is the main stage arena, the three-day camping event is set up to make everyone feel completely free.”
The 10th-anniversary line-up features 14 international acts and 35 domestic artists, spanning live performances and DJ sets across two live music stages.
“We’re truly so excited to be hosting our event at Lake Mokoan, Winton Wetlands. It’s what I refer to as Victoria’s version of Kakadu,” Mr Erdeli said.
“This incredible 25,000-acre nature reserve is rich in wildlife, cultural significance and natural beauty.
“It’s the perfect place for our community to come together to connect with nature and each other through music and the arts. “
With on-site sound healing, yoga and mind, body and spirit workshops, the three-day event will emphasise mind expansion.
People will be able to hop in a hot air balloon for a one-hour ride at sunrise, thereby witnessing the sprawling Winton Wetlands and surrounding Yorta Yorta Country from above.
The Saturday night of this year’s festival will be the ‘Night of the Howling Moon’.
“At 3am, the entire festival will join together to enact the ancient ritual of howling at the full moon,” Mr Erdeli said.
“CWWT will attempt to set a world record for the largest group of people howling at a full moon.
“Get ready Chi Wow Wah-ians to connect with your inner beast and embark on the world’s biggest full moon ritual for Night of the Howling Moon.”
