The festival’s organising committee invites community members and local businesses to join them at the Lakeside Community Centre from 5.30pm to see the progress made since its last community meeting in March.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into the festival while enjoying complimentary drinks and nibbles.
Scheduled for March 2024, the festival has garnered substantial support from the Victorian Government’s Regional Events Fund and Benalla Rural City Council.
The event will see the streets of Benalla transformed into vibrant canvasses from Friday, March 22, 2024.
Festival curator Eddie Zammit, who brings with him more than 20 years of experience in creative project delivery, will discuss new developments and plans for the festival.
He will also introduce the Street Art Festival’s vision for 2024, covering dates, times and programming.
The event will mark the launch of a crowdfunding campaign, aiming to raise $50,000 for fringe events and promotions associated with the Benalla Street Art Festival.
The meeting will also showcase the festival’s website and social media pages.
Businesses are encouraged to take advantage of increased visitation by staying open during the festival and hosting activities for fringe events.
Expressions of interest for volunteers, fringe events and sponsors are sought, with roles available and registration accessible through the festival’s new website, set to be launched in the coming weeks.
“The Benalla Street Art Festival is not just an event,” Mr Zammit said.
“It’s a community-driven initiative supported by the Victorian Government, designed to boost the local economy, showcase local, national and international artistic talent, and create an immersive cultural experience for both residents and visitors.”
The event will run from 5.30pm-7pm. Attendees need to RSVP for catering purposes via www.eventbrite.com.au/e/benalla-street-art-sneak-peek-tickets-751248433287 or via 5760 2600.
