Death of a Salesman will come to life at Riverlinks

Hearth Theatre’s production of Death of a Salesman takes centre stage at Riverlinks WestSide in Mooroopna next week, and producers are expecting a profound impact to be left on the local community.

On Tuesday, May 9, Arthur Miller’s iconic take on the American dream comes alive, bringing one of the greatest plays of the 20th century to the regional theatre scene.

Venues manager Ken Cameron said Riverlinks was thrilled to host Death of a Salesman as part of its 2023 season.

“The play has been regarded as one of the best contemporary plays ever written, and we are excited to offer our audiences a chance to experience this masterpiece on stage,” he said.

Among the themes of abandonment and betrayal, Melburnian Paul English, cast as lead Willy Loman, said the play showcased a tale of the everyman trying to make a living in precarious work — a theme to which many can relate.

“(Willy) battling with the system and with himself, still speaks to us today, and it embodies our shared humanity,” he said.
