El Dorado and surrounds come alive when participating businesses fly their gold flags welcoming you to explore taste and enjoy.
Pick up a brochure/map from the El Dorado general store, participating businesses or download it from eldorado.org.au to assist you navigate your way around. Or keep up to date on Instagram by following @gold_flag_trail.
Follow the gold flags to visit cellar doors and farm gate shops offering tastings, sales and fresh produce. View artworks, crafts, unique clothing and open studios, enjoy tea and coffee, a lazy lunch, cold beers and more.
On the day, walk up Monument Hill or explore Reid’s Walk to the swing bridge. Visit Cock’s Pioneer Gold and Tin Mining Dredge, the largest in the southern hemisphere — once a 2142 tonne ‘floating monster’, which now rests on the outskirts of town.
Participating business are McEvoy Tavern and Eldorado General Store, El Dorado Museum, The Plough Inn, Indigo Vineyard, Eldorado Road Wines in Beechworth, El Dorado Cherries, El Dorado Garlic & Chilli Co, The Farmacy Garden, Mt Pilot Estate Wines, Biancavera Rubega Gallery Studio, El Dorado Pottery, Andy Pye Studio and Peak Oil Company Design.
The event is organised by the El Dorado Tourism Business Group and supported via a grant from the Rural City of Wangaratta.
