Sacred Heart Primary School held their end of year mass and year six graduation last Wednesday, with great attendance and lots of smiles and tears as senior students gear up for high school.

Several students across the whole school community were awarded recognition awards including three year six students, James O’Kane, Sophie Hicks and Amelie Coll.
James was awarded the Barbara Quinn Education Bursary to recognise his academic progress and achievements, and to encourage further academic success, build confidence, and to support his transition into secondary education.

Sophie was awarded the Marj Maroney Award for displaying so many qualities associated with the award. Sophie’s compassion for others and dedication to her learning make her an ideal role model for her peers.
Sophie is held in high regard by all through her involvement in school and community activities and she goes above and beyond to help others, not because it is expected but because to her, it is the right thing to do.
Sophie exemplifies all that Marj stood for and the school community couldn't think of a more worthy or deserving recipient for this year's Marj Maroney award.
Amelie was awarded Burramine Sports Award sponsored by the Burramine Sports Club for demonstrating a willingness to grow and learn as a sports person, and displaying leadership qualities and team spirit.
Amelie has a positive attitude and enthusiastic approach and the school community and Burramine Sports Club congratulate her.

Farewell to staff
Mrs Nada Nolen and Ms Lois Stiles were farewelled by the Sacred Heart students and community at the End of Year Mass last Wednesday.
Their contribution to the school over 20 years and 18 years respectively, has been substantial.
Principal Mrs Arn Gorman and Deputy Principal Mr Ben Griffin, were also acknowledged for their dedication and commitment to Sacred Heart over eight years, leading in all areas of education, the academics, social emotional wellbeing, and have created a strong connected community where everyone feels they belong.
Mrs Gorman has accepted a position as Principal at St Pat’s Wangaratta while Mr Griffin has been appointed Principal at St Anne’s North Albury.

Incoming Sacred Heart Primary School Principal Jarrod Mullavey with his family.
As a school community Sacred Heart Primary are pleased to welcome Mr. Jarrod Mullavey and his family.
Jarrod has accepted the role as principal of Sacred Heart in 2025. Jarrod is very enthusiastic about joining the school and comes to Yarrawonga after serving as Principal at several schools, most recently St Mary’s Cohuna.
Ms Rebecca Bridgeman has accepted the role as Deputy Principal.
Bec has a strong knowledge and understanding of best practice in learning and teaching with a particular passion for mathematics.
The Sacred Heart community know Jarrod and Bec, will continue to lead the school with faith and compassion.
