The Customs House Gallery’s latest exhibition is one for all ages, with paintings of popular fairy tales on display.

Local artists have contributed their own interpretations of the theme, from classic fairy tales to mythical creatures.

The gallery’s owner Kate Villarroel said there is a range of unique artworks on show.
“The artists did whatever they wanted as long as they followed the fairy tale theme and that's what makes it really exciting because everyone has something completely different,” she said.

Ms Villarroel said that everyone is welcome to view the gallery, regardless of whether they are buying art.
“This is a viewing gallery as well as a buying gallery. It's good to see what’s around locally, especially for young people,” she said.
“There’s no pressure to buy, people are welcome to just come and have a look.”

The new exhibition officially opened on Friday, December 13 and was attended by both community members and a few of the contributing artists.
The gallery is open from Thursday to Monday from 10am to 4pm on Leslie St.
The exhibition will run until Monday, February 3, 2025.
