The Murray River Adventure Trail is a planned series of connected walking, cycling and paddling trails, branching from Lake Hume near Wodonga in the east to Mildura in the west.
Residents are encouraged by Engage Victoria to attend information sessions on Wednesday in Echuca and on Thursday in Cohuna.
From 10am to noon on Wednesday, the Port of Echuca Discovery Centre will host a pop-up session where the community will be asked to listen to plans for the trail and provide their thoughts.
Echuca library will then hold a similar event from 5pm to 7pm, while Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre will welcome guests on Thursday from 10am to noon.
The adventure trail is set to include pedestrian links, improved camping facilities and new canoe and kayak launches as part of stage one.
Among the potential campground improvements are toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, designated spaces for tents and a stepped canoe launch.
Stage one will pass through Echuca, Murray River Reserve, Gunbower National Park and Lower Goulburn National Park, and also includes six new water access points and bookable campsites at some of the 16 formal stopping points.
The trail will facilitate multi-day paddles for guests, such as from Barmah to Echuca and Echuca to Torrumbarry Weir.
Engage Victoria is seeking feedback from the community, particularly from kayakers and canoers, to inform the next stages of the plan and make any amendments to the concept designs.
