Free green waste weekend at Benalla tip

A council spokesperson said to access free green waste disposal, they asked that you make a trip with just organic waste.

“If you arrive with a mix of green waste and other waste, it can be challenging to separate the load to decide which materials are free,” the spokesperson said.

“We can only accept timber that is raw and in its natural form.

“This means any machined timber cannot be accepted as green waste for free disposal.

“Stumps need to be less than 400mm in diameter and 1000mm in length.

“The weekend is for domestic customers only.

“Only sedans, utes or trailers, up to dual wheel tandem will be accepted.

“Trucks and tippers are considered commercial quantities so are not eligible to dispose of green waste for free.”
