Jane Grimwade is in the driver’s seat, named as the new president, taking over the reins from resigning president Brad Hearn.
An FBAG spokesperson said Ms Grimwade’s lifelong connection to the gallery and her commitment to the local community would be a valuable contribution to the committee.
Ms Grimwade said this year represented 30 years since the founding of FBAG and was a time to be proud of, as the committee moved forward.
“FBAG is privileged to have had the leadership and direction of Brad Hearn as president for the last four years,” Ms Grimwade said.
“I am looking forward to stepping into this role and building (on) the great work that the previous committee have done in expanding our group and providing an important social connection in our community.
“I would like to thank Brad Hearn, past secretary David Palmer and returning treasurer Pamela O’Connor for their wonderful support on the past committee.
“We are an inclusive and active group committed to supporting the Benalla Art Gallery by fundraising, organising functions, excursions and other social events.
“It’s a great time to become a member and have a say in shaping our goals, priorities, and social events for the year ahead.
“I encourage anyone who is interested in meeting new friends and supporting the Benalla Art Gallery to get involved.”
Joining Ms Grimwade and Ms O’Connor in the executive committee is secretary Angeline Daniels and members Brad Hearn, Ellen Crocker, Neville Gibb and Michael Ross.
The next meeting for members of FBAG will be Tuesday, October 18, at 5:30pm at the Benalla Art Gallery. All members are welcome to attend.
If you are interested in becoming a member or if you’d like any more information you can phone Ms Daniels on 0401 534 408 or email friendsbag21@gmail.com
