A special event will take place to mark the occasion at Benalla Art Gallery on Friday, May 12, from 6pm-8pm.
FBAG president Jane Grimwade is looking forward to celebrating three decades of close friendships and great memories.
“This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, learn about the history of FBAG and its support of the gallery’s wonderful collection,” Ms Grimwade said.
Entry to the event is free and drinks and nibbles will be provided. Please note it is open to people aged 18 and over only.
“We will be joined on the night by guest speaker, first president of FBAG Marian Staughton,” Ms Grimwade said.
“Ms Staughton remains a staunch supporter of the gallery and was married to Sam Staughton, a Benalla farmer and a recognised artist, with his work represented in the gallery’s collection.
“Full of enthusiasm as first FBAG president Marian took to the helm and the Friends grew with parties, fundraising and plenty of fun in the gallery.
“We are excited to recount these memories and look to the future of supporting gallery for the next 30 years.”
While the event is free, FBAG is encouraging people to offer a donation, and booking is required by phoning the gallery on 5760 2619.
