And that mission is to bring a monthly ‘Cars and Coffee’ event to the Rose City.
A lifelong car enthusiast, David drives a classic Jaguar and is keen to have a place to meet like-minded revheads to have a chat and show off their pride and joy.
That place will be the Mitre 10 car park on Sydney Rd, and he aims to have the event up and running by the third Sunday in February.
“We aim to hold it on the third Sunday each month after that,” he said.
“It will be a static display of cars by car enthusiasts, and it’s for classic cars.
“It can be anything from a million dollar Rolls-Royce to a Model T Ford.
“It will be an event that people can gather and chat about cars and will probably bring people from other local towns like Shepparton, Mansfield, and so forth, here.”
The event is also about bringing money into the local community.
“There is a coffee van in the Mitre 10 car park, where people can grab a drink and some food,” David said.
Attendees will also be encouraged to head into Benalla as well to support the economy.
David said he would offer attending car owners the opportunity to also go on a drive, within the local area.
“Nothing much further than 50km,” he said.
“Just a drive out to a tourist attraction, possibly the Tatong Tavern, or one of the silo towns.”
It will be free to bring your car along to the event.
