The funding, which is also available to local councils, can be used to hold a virtual or in-person COVID-safe event.
The theme of this year's Children's Week is ‘Children have the right to choose their own friends and safely connect with others’.
It is based on Article 15 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes has invited eligible organisations in northern Victoria to apply for a grant.
“The grants will help our local organisations host fun events and activities that celebrate children, while finding new innovative ways to engage with local communities,” Ms Symes said.
“I look forward to all the exciting events and activities that will happen across the north-east to celebrate Children’s Week 2021, and shine light on the right of children to choose their own friends and safely connect with others.”
National Children’s Week will be held between October 23-31.

More than 27,000 children and families took part in Children’s Week in 2020, across 82 grant-funded events.
Early Childhood Minister Ingrid Stitt said making Victoria the Education State started with the early years.
“Children’s Week is a great opportunity to celebrate our young people as well as educate about their right to choose their own friends and safely connect with others.”
In an Australian-first, the state government is investing almost $5 billion this decade to provide three-year-old children with access to 15 hours of a funded kindergarten program.

From 2022, three-year-old children across the state will have access to at least five hours of kindergarten delivered by a teacher.
Services will then scale up their hours to reach the full 15-hour program by 2029.
