More than 20 vehicles respond as grassfire cuts Benalla Yarrawonga Rd

However, Benalla-Yarrawong Rd remains closed between Sydney Rd and Link Rd.

A grassfire continues to burn on Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd north-east of Benalla.

As of 1.29pm on Tuesday, January 2, there were 21 vehicles responding to the fire.

The CFA has issued a Stay Informed advice message for Benalla, which reads:

“There is a grassfire at Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd, Benalla, that is not yet under control.

“Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd is closed between Sydney Rd and Link Rd.

“There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and monitor conditions.”

Residents are encouraged to keep roads clear so emergency vehicles can respond.
