The program is aimed at developing leadership attributes and management skills in existing and emerging managers, thereby creating organisational and culturally empowered leaders.
Fourteen health professional managers and aspiring personnel were led by GOTAFE to recognise and embrace their own leadership strengths and hone their skills as sustainable leaders of the future.
Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS) chief executive officer Karen Laing said it was important for her team to network and develop alongside their regional peers while they were supporting clients across multiple health centres.
“It is so important that REDHS staff, under our current circumstances, have such opportunities for unity and collaboration, and it is programs such as this Murray Leadership course that are paramount now and in REDHS’ new future,” Ms Laing said.
The course content was developed and directed to include existing and emerging leaders looking to build strong leadership skills and collaborative relationships to effectively lead and manage in the rapidly changing health service environment.
“This leadership program captures the essence of our leadership aspirations by investing in our staff to not only gain knowledge and skills to support our organisation but to build confidence in their own capabilities,” Kyabram Health chief executive officer Anne McEvoy said.
