Kinder receives funding for furnishings

Echuca’s newest kindergarten is set to receive $100,000 in funding from the Victorian Government to ensure it is ready for new students from day one.

The Echuca Primary School kindergarten is one of six new kinders across northern Victoria that will receive the funding to be put towards furnishing the new builds.

Children Minister Lizzie Blandthorn said the funding would provide students with the necessary equipment for learning.

“Young children have so much to gain and learn from the opportunities provided through kindergarten — we’re opening new kinders across the state and making sure they have the equipment they need from day one,” she said.

The funding will be used to fit-out the kinder buildings with new desks, chairs, play and IT equipment and medical items.

The funding can also be used to purchase fixtures such as blinds and lamps and equipment such as stoves and dishwashers.

Any purchases made by the chosen kinders prior to the funding over the past six months can also be reimbursed.

Echuca’s newest kinder is set to be open in January 2025.
