Kyabram’s remaining WWII survivor honoured

Mr Lloyd’s daughter Sheryl Woods and son Rod Lloyd were also present to witness the presentation of the medallion that landmarks 75 years of remembering Australia’s significant involvement in the wars.

The medallion features a poppy prominent on one side, surrounded by the wording of ‘Australia Remembers’, and the Commonwealth coat of arms and wording of appreciation on the reverse side of the medallion.

In 2023, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs began to produce and distribute the Commemorative Medallion and Certificate of Commemoration to veterans from World War II.

Mr Lloyd is the only living Kyabram World War II veteran and the only veteran to receive this honour in Kyabram.
