LAB has been working with local artists, organisations and the community to create a program of live events for the entire family, placing them in some of Benalla's most iconic public spaces.
It is set to present its very first live event on Saturday, April 9, which will showcase some of Benalla’s local talent, alongside Queensland-based, cross-disciplinary visual artist Zoe Porter.
LAB producer Tegan Nash said this new work called surface, would feature theatrical live mural painting with dance, circus, projection and sound.
“This performance experience is an opportunity for the community to emerge from the isolation of the past two years and rediscover our environment and the new forms and shapes this may take,” Ms Nash said.
Join LAB under the deck at Benalla Art Gallery for this free performance from 5.30pm on April 9.
Enjoy a drink and a small bite catered by Munro+Sergeant Cafe.
Bring a picnic rug, set up by Benalla’s iconic lakeside and enjoy a glorious Rose City sunset.
Bookings can be made via @liveartbenalla Facebook or Instagram.
This performance will be followed by the latest Benalla Art Gallery artist talk, which also features Ms Porter.
That is taking place on Sunday, April 10, at the Benalla Art Gallery.
