This marks another milestone in the school's short history, following the acquisition of Gunbower Estate in early 2024, made possible by a significant donation from the G&A Kent Charitable Trust.
As the highest strategic priority in their 2024 and Beyond Strategy, this-state-of-the-art facility will enhance learning opportunities for students, staff and the Echuca-Moama community.
After engaging the voice of staff and students and conducting site visits to exemplar multipurpose stadiums, Moama Anglican Grammar has finalised a comprehensive concept design and future vision for the stadium, which will be situated at the northern end of the Kirchhofer St campus.
Key features include two international-sized multi-sport courts, advanced audiovisual and acoustic systems, and modern toilets and changing rooms. The stadium will also have automated retractable seating for up to 1000 people.
School principal Scott Downward shared the school community's excitement about the project.
“As a school, we are fortunate to have such contemporary and extensive learning spaces to support student experience and quality learning programs delivered by our staff,” he said.
“We are delighted to present our multipurpose stadium concept design, which will provide our students with access to specialist physical education, sport, food technology, co-curricular and extracurricular facilities.
“This development will not only enrich our students' experience by expanding choice and opportunity, but also enable us to host interschool activities, bringing new opportunities to our school and the broader community.”
The new stadium will be a large, climate-controlled, all-weather facility, able to host multiple classes at once.
The stadium will be able to host the entire school community for events, fostering stronger community partnerships.
The project will be completed in stages, with future phases adding more learning spaces and specialist rooms for activities like hospitality, fitness, music, dance, and performing arts. The school's intention is to commence construction of stage 1 in Semester 2 of 2025.
