When Benalla’s Remy Laity heard local business She’s Arty was for sale, she decided to learn the ropes from previous owner Jim Myconos and give running the business a go.
With the help of her dad and well-known artist David Laity, a good friend of Jim’s, she moved into a new shop, previously occupied by Polished, on Benalla’s Bridge St.
“It was time to update and reorganise the old shop anyway, and this new shop is such a beautiful space to come into,” Remy said.
Opening her doors only last week, Remy said it had already been quite busy, as customers had been popping in to check out the new premises.
“Last week, I travelled to Melbourne to purchase new framing and mounting stock, and now that everything is in its place, I feel like the shop has become my own,” Remy said.
“I’m a perfectionist and take excellent care of precious things, and I reckon both are good attributes for a professional framer.
“There are not many custom framing shops in our region, and I look forward to working with artists all over our region.
“I’m connected to Benalla and love living here, so I look forward to making this business a lasting success.”
She’s Arty’s new location is 95 Bridge St East, Benalla.
