Police beat: Driver travelling wrong way on Hume Fwy, two motorcycles stolen and more in this week’s police beat.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the Hume Fwy about 1.30am on Saturday, December 30.

A black Ford Territory and a truck were involved in a collision about 1km south of Erreys Rd.

The driver of the Territory was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No one else involved was injured.

Police are appealing for anyone with information in relation to the collision to contact Benalla Police Station on 5760 0200.

Drink driver detected on Christmas Day

About 10pm on Christmas Day, police received numerous calls in relation to a vehicle allegedly travelling in the wrong direction on the Hume Fwy near Winton.

Police intercepted the vehicle and breath-tested the male driver, who allegedly returned a positive breath test result of 0.081.

Police thanked community members who contacted them to help ensure the safety of our road users.

Two Honda CRF motorcycles stolen

Benalla Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the theft of two red and white Honda motorcycles from a property in Lima South between December 21 and 27, 2023.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the 2021 Honda CRF 110F and 2021 Honda CRF 50F to contact Benalla Police Station on 5760 0200 or information could be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Reference 230458291.
