Police are urging community members not to leave valuables in vehicles, and to ensure vehicles are locked, after recent reports of attempted thefts in the vicinity of Cowan St, Benalla.
Remember to lock all doors and close all windows, no matter how long vehicles are unattended, and where possible park in a well-lit and secure area.
If your car is broken into, call the police — and don’t touch anything.
Do not confront the thief; your safety is more important than your possessions.
To report a crime in progress call 000; for non emergencies call the police assistance line on 131 444.
