The school had planned a big day of activities over Zoom, but all were delighted to be able to celebrate in more traditional fashion.
Students enjoyed a day of activities with the theme ‘100'. They dressed up as 100-year-olds and had plenty of fun as they reconnected with friends.
Foundation teacher Hayden Reeves said everyone at the school was delighted to celebrate at school.

“There’s some great costumes this year,” Mr Reeves said.
“Parents seem to enjoy it almost as much as the kids, and we’re very lucky that they’ve all got into the spirit of 100 days.”

For the second year in a row Foundation students have had to adapt to lockdowns, alongside homeschooling and remote learning.
Mr Reeves said while it had been difficult, the kids had coped well.

“It helps that we’ve got a supportive school community,” he said.
“They seem to embrace every time we’ve had to go into remote learning. It does take a lot of flexibility.

“But I think today just illustrates how much the kids love to be in school.
“It’s been a great celebration to come back to, and they do seem to miss their friends a lot.

“So we're lucky that we can be back to celebrate 100 days together.”
Mr Reeves said the plan for the day was to do lots of activities.

“We’re doing a writing piece on where we think we’ll be when we’re 100,” he said.
“We’re going out to do 100 star jumps today and we’re reading a book all about being 100 years old.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our families for embracing the 100 days celebration. The kids look amazing and it is that community spirit that makes school such a special place to come back to once we’re out of lockdown.”
The students were queuing up to tell The Ensign how much they loved the day.
Harry said it was his best ever day. "I loved all of it,” Harry said.

“Dressing up as an old lady was the best,” Samarah said.
“I liked making the glasses because art is fun,” Claudia said.
A few were just pleased to be back in the classroom.
“I love school because I miss my friends when I'm not here,” Hunter said.
And Chessie said she loves being in school because she loves learning.
