It was a bright, sunny, moderately warm day which was perfect conditions for all the athletes to perform at their best.
As they moved to each event you could hear the cheers from other students, the parents nervously egging their kids on and the background announcer directing the traffic for the day.
The starter’s gun was a familiar sound, followed by the pounding of feet going as fast as they could down the track, and time keepers at the ready for each student that crossed the finish line.
Pencils were handed out to signify placings, then off to the officials to record the days results.
When students were not competing they had the opportunity to race to the hall to select the perfect gift for mum to give on Mother’s Day.
The P&C were thrilled with the day, with the tables of gifts almost empty.
