“We put an entry form out and we have people from all over Australia come to Echuca to participate with their classic cars,” Rich River Rod and Custom Club president Daniel Arnold said.
“It is a chrome bumper event, so anything with a chrome bumper is welcome or older.
“Generally, it is pre-1978.
“The majority of the cars are customised, but we do have a couple of restored vehicles and Australian muscle cars coming along as well."
The rod run will run from Friday, March 15, to Sunday, March 17.
The Friday night is for entrants only, with a meet-and-greet barbecue.
Saturday will start with an entrant’s breakfast, followed by a rod run down to Rochester.
“We are hoping to get all the entrants to participate, group up and come along,” Mr Arnold said.
“It will be led by one of our members and cruise down to Rochester, have lunch there and put on a display.
“Previously, we have had 300-plus cars enter, but I reckon we might have a little bit more.”
On Sunday, entrants will have their cars on display as part of a show ’n’ shine in Moama.
The day starts at 9am and the presentations for the entrants will be at 12.30pm.
“All the cars will be on display, we will have live music, we have got trade stands, stuff for the kids to do, a petting zoo, face painting,” Mr Arnold said.
“We have a straight eight, which is your top eight cars judged by the Rich River Rod and Custom members.
“Other awards for the show ’n’ shine include top hot rod, top custom and anyone who is a sponsor, they give away a trophy.”
The show ’n’ shine will be held on Sunday, March 17, from 9am at Jack Eddy Oval in Moama. Tickets will be available at the gate and entry is free for children 12 and under.
