“Benalla Rotary has sponsored many youth exchange students over the years and Peter has hosted many on his farm at Baddaginnie, giving them an insight into rural living in general and sheep farming in particular.
“For many years Peter organised the parking at the annual Benalla Show.
“For the past four years Peter has opened his house and extensive gardens for Rotary Social functions – a great deal of time and effort goes into ensuring everything is immaculate.
“He is very generous with his time and helps whenever his farming lets him.

“Peter is an active member of the wider Benalla community having been a committee member of the Friends of the Benalla Art Gallery of which he was president in 2000.
“Over the years he has had a leading role in organising activities to provide support to local farmers during drought and water issues.
“In particular he organised fortnightly get togethers for farmers at the Farmers Arms in 2019; a great initiative for mental health awareness.”
