But how are Shepparton residents celebrating?
The News wanted to find out, and here’s what they had to say.

I will be moving to a new property and starting to renovate it. Lots of building to do, lots of unpacking to do, lots of organising to do. I’ll also be getting the kayaks out and going fishing on the lake. Also, I’ll hopefully catch up with my family at some point over the Christmas period, so it’ll be nice to spend some time with my nephews and nieces.

Lots of relaxing, hopefully. I’ve got cousins coming over from Germany, so I’m catching up with them. They’ve got little twins, so I’ll be seeing the twins for the first time and just catching up with family members because all our family live all over the state. So we’re just travelling, and we have a 21st birthday to attend so we’ll be having a party.

I think I’ll be spending time, as always, with friends and family and trying to catch up celebrating birthdays, but also getting time to do all the things that I don’t get to do around the house during the year. It’s not that exciting, but entertaining a nine-year-old will probably be a massive part of it as well.

I’m just spending time with family and preparing to go to uni next year. I’m really excited just to play instruments and video games and sleep. I’m not doing much, but I’ll be gearing up for uni, where I’ll be doing a double degree in music and teaching.
