With the shop having been closed since the floods, the team at the Resale Shop is ready to open the doors once again to sell the range of secondhand goods.
Team leader for resource recovery operations Kiki Darajat is excited to welcome Shepparton residents back to the shop.
“We encourage the community to come down and bring their items that are no longer used so they can find their second home,” she said.
The Resale Shop is also the perfect place to find Christmas gifts at a low cost, with many pre-loved items in excellent condition and ready for a new home.
“We sell lots of items here,” Ms Darajat said.
“Furniture, bikes, lawnmowers, whipper snippers. The only things we don’t sell are baby stuff and electrical items.”
Bicycles are among the most popular items to purchase, and they have been especially popular in the shop’s first week of reopening. They also make a great gift for children.
Furniture available includes dining chairs and tables, dressers, mirrors, desks, cabinets and more, all in good condition.
The shop also has children’s toys and a massive collection of books to purchase, and staff hope to have clothing back as well soon.
“It can help families who can’t afford to buy brand new things,” she said.
Everything at the shop is sold at a low cost, with most items around $5 to $10 and items in really good condition priced at around $20.
You can donate your own secondhand items to the shop at the resource recovery centre.
“I want to encourage the community to come down and bring your things so we can resell them since maybe it’s no use for them, but it can be a treasure for others,” Ms Darajat said.
The Shepparton Resale Shop is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 2pm.
You can find the shop at 125 Wanganui Rd, Shepparton.
