Charlie Murray is now part of the Wilcannia Forbes basketball team.
St Michael’s Catholic Primary School had three students invited to Dubbo last week to trial for the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese sports teams.

Charlie Murray and Jack Steenholdt travelled to Dubbo on Friday, to showcase their skills in basketball and tennis, respectively.
Both were successful in their chosen sports, and are now eagerly anticipating the Polding carnival on February 7, 2025.
There they will proudly represent the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese.
It will be held in Tamworth.
Unfortunately, due to an injury, Oscar Strongman was unable to try out for the basketball team.
Wilcania-Forbes sports co-ordinator Pam Burke was proud of all the students' efforts and the way they carried themselves.
“Each child was an exemplary representative of their school and our diocese,” she said.
“We are extremely grateful to the Bathurst Diocese for inviting and including Wilcannia-Forbes at the summer trials.”
Jack was one of only two students in the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese to progress in tennis, and Charlie was the only Wilcannia-Forbes representative successful in basketball.
Charlie was also part of last year’s Polding team in basketball, took out the NSW PSSA title and had multiple players selected for the PSSA team.
Both boys will compete for the opportunity to represent Polding and give themselves a chance of being NSW representatives.
Jack Steenholdt is now part of the Wilcannia Forbes tennis team.
