The organisation is planning to expand its services to Mooroopna in October and later to Shepparton.
State Member for Northern Victoria Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell recently visited Orange Sky’s new laundry pod at the Bendigo Salvation Army facility. During her visit, Mrs Tyrrell met with a regular user of the service and witnessed the positive impact it has on people’s lives.
“Orange Sky is a wonderful organisation that provides not only clean clothes and showers for those less fortunate but also a safe, positive and supportive environment where people can feel seen and heard,” Mrs Tyrrell said.
Orange Sky team leader Andrea Schloss explained more of the benefits of the process.
“Orange Sky is about connecting and just having a chat to help with the loneliness that you get with homelessness while your washing’s getting done,” she said.
Mrs Tyrrell encouraged community members to support and volunteer for the organisation as it established itself in new locations.
